Proverbs 22-24

Can you believe we will be finishing another book of the Bible today??? AWWWEEESSSOMMMMEEEEE!!!!!

Today we read of so many things that are definitely wise. In our closing chapters of Proverbs we read about everything, food, the desire for money and riches, humility, mockery, children, parents, relationships, alcohol, envy, KNOWING HIS ways and I could just go on and on.

My favorite verse today was: 22:4 “Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.”

If you have been with be during this entire read what I am about to say will be familiar to you, if not….then get out your magnifying glass <<<smile>>>. In reading the book of Proverbs have there been places where you have seen Jesus? Did you find HIM hiding in this reading? I see HIM in several ways. First, Jesus comes from David’s lineage which means he and Solomon are also in the same family line. Second, with each Word of how to live a good, rewarding, full, joyful, restful, life and having a place of refuge, a place to seek wisdom, and so much more…. I am reminded of ALL that Jesus did for us.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you have the Holy Spirit LIVING IN YOU…right now…today…and I am sure HE gave you at least ONE Scripture today that touched your heart, maybe it reminded you of God’s love, God’s character, God’s ways, or simply a tug on your heart reminding you of something HE wants the two of you to work on.

Since ALL Scripture is BREATHED by God and penned by the people HE chose to pen HIS Word… there is something for us on EACH page. If you go through a time where you missed reading the Bible…..it is never to late to start again….one verse, one chapter, one book, or a reading like we are doing now. God WILL give you a fresh Word from ANY place in the Bible. So….if you get to a point, stopped reading consistently, and need a Word… Proverbs is always a great place to dive in. If ONE verse or ONE Word catches your eye or your heart….then check the cross references and follow wherever God leads. HE will lead you down an amazing path and open your eyes as never before. It does not matter how few or how many times you have read the Bible before. We begin NEW every morning ….. and can begin NEW and FRESH on reading HIS Word so that it is truly written on our hearts. ASK HIM to speak to you…. HE is waiting. ASK HIM to reveal things to you and give you wisdom…HE WANTS to.
Tomorrow we will be returning to the life of Solomon…..about to build a TEMPLE…the TEMPLE David, his father, so carefully organized, planned, blessed, and gave to his son Solomon.
