Proverbs 10-12

Proverbs 10-12

We ended yesterday with a verse: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

We have also read in past that the fear of The Lord is the beginning of knowledge. (Proverbs 1:1.)

Today, these Proverbs are exactly what people think of when they thinks of Proverbs. They are short couplets, usually deal with a wider angle of topics. These are the precepts from The Lord. In today’s reading we are learning HOW to HARNESS the knowledge. I’d love to hear what truth(s) popped out to you today. If you struggled with the version, or were drawing blanks after the reading….change the version…switch to the message or any other one you may enjoy. The point God is speaking to you and to me. God knows where each of us is. HE knows what each of us needs. So chances are….something stood out to you very different from what stood out to me.

Chapter 10 — This chapter contrasts the righteous and the wicked. Go though and look at all the adjectives associated with the righteous and do the same process with the wicked Which do you CHOOSE to be, regardless of the circumstances? Keep in mind that bad things to happen to good people in this life and unfair things happen to the just. It does not mean they did something wrong BUT the good news at that in our eternal life….there will be no evil, no death, no unfairness, no sickness, no wickedness.

Chapter 11 — We visit the topic of death in this chapter. Have you ever met a Christian who was totally at peace with death? It is such a testimony to witness such peace. LOOK at ALL that God has in store for the righteous!!

Verse 21 states: “The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free.”

Wicked means “guilty”. Guilty is a non christian, an unbeliever.
“will go free” means Delivered! Redeemed!
If you have a verse that popped out and you want help looking up the words in the original text of Hebrew, put the scripture in the Comments and I will help you. I enjoying learning things together.. so feel free to ask.

I LOVE verse 25: “…he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” AHHHHHHH!!!

Verse 30: “…he who wins souls is wise.” There is the GREAT Commission we see in Matthew 28:19-20: “19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Interesting—yes???
Chapter 12– Verse 1 begins with: “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge…”
Verse 2 tells us: “a good man obtains favor from The Lord.” Again in this chapter we see the comparison between one who seeks after The Lord and one who CHOOSES NOT to!! Look at verse 4–“A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown.” Oh YEA… now that’s what I’m talking about!!.
Sharing HIS love,
